She’s known for sourcing hard-to-find, niche technical resources in the software, cloud, and security space, as well as having a track record delivering end-to-end transformation teams.
What sets Laura apart is her ability to truly understand both the business and the people behind it. Whether it’s an urgent contract requirement, execution of a contingent team, or a strategic permanent hire, her tenacity and deep market knowledge ensure she consistently delivers the right outcomes.
Alastair Shorten
Director & Cofounder
Having founded Halo Consulting, Alastair is now with Evolve Recruitment. Over his career, Alastair has a strong background in both agency and internal recruitment and brings extensive experience across Technology, Project, Sales, and Finance – recruiting for roles ranging from entry level to General Management.
He has partnered with some of New Zealand’s leading telecommunications and IT companies, successfully helping them secure top talent both locally and internationally.
Alastair is highly skilled in strategic business partnering, ensuring hiring decisions align not only with company culture but also with individual leadership styles, creating long-term, successful employee/employer relationships.
Holly Greenwood

Steven Langerak is a seasoned recruitment leader and the co-founder of two standout names in New Zealand’s recruitment scene: Consult Recruitment and, more recently, Evolve Recruitment. With over 20 years in the accounting and finance recruitment industry, he’s known for his market knowledge, strong relationship-building skills, and ability to connect top talent with the right opportunities.
After co-founding Consult Recruitment in 2008 and growing it into a leading specialist agency in accounting and finance, Steven led its expansion and successful sale. Now, with Evolve Recruitment, he’s focused on delivering modern, agile, and people-first recruitment solutions, whether it’s executive search, project resourcing, or specialist placements.
